Our application process

Don’t expect a standard, off-the-peg recruitment process at Callens! Just like the bespoke projects we develop for our clients, your application process will also be one of a kind.

Tailored to your needs

Each process is unique. A HR colleague will invite you for an introductory meeting during which we assess your expectations against the job requirements. If you would like more in-depth information from a future colleague in the department, we will organise that there and then. Is travelling to our head office causing you a problem? Then we will come to meet you at our branch closest to you (Geel or Liège) or we meet digitally. Would we do well to fast-track your application so that you can get off to a quick start? Consider it done!

Honesty first

We will honestly and transparently tell you what your job will entail, what perks you are entitled to and what the future can bring. If we think that you’d be better suited to another vacancy or to one of our other companies even we will - as always - level with you. Because a good match between corporate culture and expectations are the best guarantee for a rewarding career.

Swift communication

In our mind, honest and transparent communication goes hand in hand with swift communication. Once we receive your application, we will get back to you without undue delay. Interviews are scheduled in the short term. Also feedback is provided quickly. Because we want to get on with things. Once you have signed your contract we keep in close contact until you walk through our doors again on your first day. Incidentally, as a new member of our family of fire, you will already be more than welcome at all our events.

A look behind the scenes

Do the vacancy and the work environment sound fascinating but are you struggling to get a concrete picture? Or would you like to get a taste of the job before you take the plunge? Why not come and join your new team for a day? They will take you into their wondrous world of technology, teamwork and pride.

At Callens, I was actually shown a system as part of my interview - with a future colleague at that! And I knew there and then: here they produce systems to be proud of. That warm welcome and an honest glimpse of the job instilled me with confidence straightaway. Add flexibility and the seamless contact to that and I knew: this is the spot for me.

How do I know whether I am a match to the corporate culture and expectations of the Callens Group?

If you fancy getting stuck in and throwing your knowledge in the ring or upskilling, you are already one step ahead. Other than that, we expect collegiality and a sense of responsibility. Every vacancy will obviously come with its own specific requirements you will find in the job description. Do you have any questions or are you unsure about something? Talk to us! Our doors are always open.

What are the perks of working for the Callens Group?

Whatever you are looking for, there are plenty of values that can click for you. You will find yourself in a close-knit group of companies where collegiality and helping one another are a matter of course. And we keep close tabs on you via regular formal meetings but also through informal contact - at coffee time for instance - we keep our feelers out.

Wish to further your knowledge and skills? You can tell us what training you would like to follow to enable you to grow in your job. Your opinion counts. And that applies across the board: do you have an idea or would you like to share your opinion on something that struck you or would like to change? Do let us know! We are open to different views.

Not only the atmosphere but also your physical workstation are more than pleasant. At the office, we provide you with an ergonomic workstation with focus and relaxation spots. What’s more, everyone gets the best materials to work with, whether they are working at the office or on site. Because quality work calls for qualitative tools. And we’re adamant about that.

And yes, aside from all that fierce work there obviously is room for relaxation. For one, our classics like a classy staff party with the most delectable food and feet that keep on dancing. And team-building activities where you get to join forces with colleagues from every department. But also theme-based after-work dos, movie nights or thrilling dance competitions which always draw a crowd. Thinking of organising something yourself, with your team or the entire company? Make sure to let us know!

How do I prepare for my visit to the Callens Group?

There is quite a lot to tell and learn about the Callens Group. Make sure to take a look at the various websites to soak up the atmosphere of each company and to discover what we stand for and what our ambitions are. Something not quite clear? Then you can ask your specific questions during your interview.

We put an awful lot of energy into our job descriptions to make them as comprehensive and clear as possible. Read them carefully so that you get a clear picture of your future job. And don’t hesitate to ask questions during your interview. We bring in a future colleague early on so that he or she can answer any specific questions you may have. We are always honest about expectations and count on it that you too communicate with us in a transparent manner.

Is there an office dog?

No, but we do have other hairy pets: bees. When you visit our head offices in Waregem, you will spot two bee hives on the green as you drive up. This is how we do our bit for diversity while we end up with wonderful honey every year in return.

How does the Callens Group strengthen the bond with its staff?

Our place of work invites people to connect with one another: having lunch together, relaxing, practising a sport, meeting and brainstorming at inspiring locations together…

In addition, we insist on transparent communication. We communicate digitally about our ambitions, current projects, campaigns… with the entire group. Everyone is always kept up to date with the latest news.

We also invite you to our info meetings, the boss’s round, the staff party, team-building activities, sports tournaments, you name it.

Now and again, we go all out. As in the case of the Hottest Week. We launched seemingly impossible challenges we completed together. And we collected € 20,000 for our charity.

What does a working day at the Callens Group look like?

That is intrinsically connected to the role you want to play here. Are you on site day after day? Then you’ll probably start your week with a chat in the warehouse on Monday mornings while you’re loading up your materials and a cup of coffee at home the for the rest of the week before you travel to the site directly.

Does your job require a desk with a laptop? In that scenario, you’ll be working flexitime and your day will start with a cheerful good morning at reception and from the rest of your colleagues. That’s if you’re not working from home or have to get up at the crack of dawn to check on a site you’re in charge of.

During your interview we’ll further elaborate on your daily schedule. Curious as to how it all works in practice? In that case, you would be more than welcome to come and work with your colleagues for a day!

How does working for the Callens Group offer you certainty in life?

The Callens Group knows what it is at. We have earned our position as market leader and are determined to defend it against the waves in the market. We look ahead with our technical solutions and the jobs to match. And that includes your job.
